Lots of Love for Oglethorpe Woods & the OAES Community

Last Saturday about 15 volunteers showed up to help clear a patch of Oglethorpe Woods that was choked with invasive privet. After just three hours, we opened it up so the deck in this corner of the property is now visible from a distance and there’s a view of the creek. Check out the gallery below to get a sense for what we did!

Thanks so much to everyone who showed up — especially David Childers, whose plan for revitalizing Oglethorpe Woods inspired this work-morning. He thinks with just six more similar efforts, all of the property along the creek (directly behind the school) can be opened up to make the creek visible and the area more inviting.

Following the work morning, about 25 parents and kids showed up for the second Picnic & Positivity eventevents/2139541549530630 at OAES. Lots of good fun on the playground!
