Our Three ‘Celebrity’ Judges
Kalin Hill (a.k.a. Chef Kaydot) grew up in Forest Heights and attended Clarke Central and the culinary program at Athens Technical College. He has recently moved back from Atlanta where he worked as a chef at the Georgia World Congress Center and the Mercedes Benz Stadium. He now caters many different events in Athens and assists with coordinating bookings for DJs, bartenders, decorators, photographers and other event staff. He loves the heat and excitement of the kitchen, but is equally drawn to the delight that a well-plated and tasty dish can produce for diners. (Contact Chef Kaydot about catering your next event at chefkaydotservices@gmail.com or 706-461-9487.)
Krimson Black grew up in Oconee County but moved to Athens as soon as she was able and has lived in Forest Heights since 2005. She opened Krimson Kafe in Watkinsville at the age of 19, when many her age didn’t yet have a self-directed thought in their heads. She’s a beloved part of both communities, and some say she makes the best chicken salad in the whole state.
Brian Head has worked in nearly every Athens restaurant in his 25 years as a professional cook. Before coming to Athens, he trained in Portland, Oregon, under renowned French chef, Philippe Boulet. Before COVID, he headed up the kitchen at Last Resort & Grill's Provisions restaurant. Currently, he's hosting private dinners at several area farms. He's lived in Forest Heights since 2013.
