Four Festival Garden Tours this Year!
The Garden Tour associated with the Forest Heights Blueberry Festival has doubled in size again this year with four sites — all in close proximity. Each site will have a slightly different offering and timing, so take a look at the info below (and the map) to plan how you want to spend your time.
Suggested donation for the garden tour is $3 per adult. Donate online here.
Site 1: 102 Timberlane Drive
Andy Trawick & Sharon Bower (on the corner of Timberlane and Forest Heights Drive.)
Time: Noon - 2 p.m.
Tours:
Self-guided tour in roped off area in front yard.
20-minute guided tour of garden area. Starts each half hour.
What you’ll see:
Front yard: Plants that are deer tolerant and drought tolerant.
Garden tour: 4800 sq. foot garden. Layout, design, irrigation, cascading rain garden, crops and other plants.
Site 2: 515 Forest Heights Drive
Kerem Kilic’s Forest Gardens (entrance on Stoneland Drive.)
Time: [CHANGE] noon and 1:15 p.m.
Tours: Two one-hour guided tours
What you’ll see:
Permaculture farm and nursery, Forest Gardens, is entering its third year in Forest Heights. Owner/operator Kerem Kilic will discuss ecological gardening, uncommon fruits/nuts, and using permaculture principles to make regenerative garden beds & Hügel mounds.

Site 3: 179 Tara Way
Caryn & Martijn van Wagtendonk
Time: noon - 3 p.m.
Tours: Guided and on-going, just walk up and join in.
What you’ll see:
Aesthetic approaches to replacing grass with more diversity, color and life.
The use of simple and inexpensive/free materials to enrich soil and slow run-off.
Habitat and food sources to help pollinators, birds and other wildlife.
Site 4: 240 Tara Way
Mary Miller and Jim Davis
Time: 12:30 - 2:30 p.m.
Tours: Self-guided exploration, with hosts on site (and happy to talk)
What you’ll see:
A combination of native plants and vegetables chosen to attract pollinators.
Raised bed gardening.
