Festival Silent Auction Preview

During this year’s Forest Heights Blueberry Festival on Saturday, June 4, we’re trying a new fundraiser to support festival costs and the community blueberry project. We’re holding a silent auction of like-new and lightly used items that have been sitting unused in Forest Heights homes.

The items will be on display for bidding during The Blueberry Jam Concert sponsored by Oglethorpe Garage. The concert begins on the Holly Court stage promptly at 5:30 p.m. To bid on the items, simply put your name and contact info on the appropriate bid sheet — plus the amount you’re willing to offer. Bidding will end at 9 p.m. and the winning bids will be announced.

Winners do not have to be present. But if they are, they’re welcome to pay for the items and take them home right away, or we can delivery them in the next few days.

The following items are available for silent auction:

  • One-wheel, pull-behind child’s bike - made by Giant, lovingly restored by Howie Davis of Sunshine Cycles

  • Topeak bicycle child-carrier seat

  • Thule trailer-hitch, 2-bike carrier

  • Sunny stationary exercise bike

  • Consult and concept design from Medicine Wheel Landscape Design/Build

  • Brand new rope hammock

  • 10’ Ryobi tablesaw and stand

  • Bushnell Field Glasses (aka binoculars)

  • Brand new Cuisinart Snowcone Maker

  • Adult-sized Trikke

In addition to the silent auction, we’ll also draw for door prizes. For every $1 dollar donation made to the festival via cash, Venmo or check, festival-goers will receive a door-prize ticket. Donations can be made at the merchandise tent at any point during the festival. However, to win a door prize, you must be present (and listening!) during The Blueberry Jam concert.

Drawings will take place between musical sets with the help of concert sponsors, The Oglethorpe Garage. The following door prizes will be given away:

  • A Spalted Oak Bar Set hand-turned in Forest Heights by Allison Martin

  • A set of children’s books by neighborhood duo, Jacob Wenzka & Bart King

  • 2 Gift Certificates to Krimson Kafé in Watkinsville

  • 2 Gift Certificates to J’s Bottle Shop in Normaltown

  • 3 pairs of blueberry bushes

  • Blueberry Festival merchandise

  • Oglethorpe Garage merchandise

Pre-ordered Festival merchandise will be available for pick up at the merchandise tent during all three festival events. A limited amount of Festival merchandise also will be available for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis. All funds generated from the festival will be used to cover festival costs and support the community blueberry and other neighborhood projects.
